Cryptid Hunters

If you like stories that are full of suspense and adventure Cryptid Hunters written by Roland Smith should fit your reading needs. This story is about two twins (or are they) whose parents are missing after an accident. The kids are taken out of their boarding school to be with their uncle, a relative they didn't know they had. Uncle Wolfe is a cryptid hunter. He studies creatures whose existence is uncertain; animals from tall tales and legends.

There are, of course, bad guys who are after the same extinct creature as Uncle Wolfe. The chase takes place in a Congolese jungle. Grace and Marty are accidentally dropped into this jungle on their way back to thier boarding school. It isn't only the extict creature that Dr. Blackwood (the bad guy) wants, he is also after one of the twins.

Mr. Smith has created a fast moving story, with many twists and turns. Grace and Marty have a great relationship for siblings. This was one of those books I call a "stirring the sauce" book, (making dinner one handed while holding the book and continuing to read).

I'm so happy to hear you liked my novel "Crpytid Hunters." It took me five years to finish it, which is a long time for me. If any of you have any questions about the book (or any of my other books) you are welcome to post them here and I'll try to answer them. But you will have too tell me when there is a question because I don't spend a lot of time on the net. I'm too busy traveling and writing. Email me at roland@rolandsmith.com if you have a question and I'll get back to your blog to answser it as soon as I can.

I love adventure stories, and this one was excellent! I thought, at first, that it was going to be kind of like the Lemony Snicket stories (not a fan!)because it was about orphaned children who are shipped off to an unknown uncle, but, happily, it is nothing like that! This is a great story, more like Madeline L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time. The characters and the various settings (boarding school, uncle's island, Congolese jungle) all come alive. I can see awards in Mr. Smith's future for this story!
Read it; you'll love it!

I loved this book! I just finished a few minutes ago and it kept me hooked he whole ime! You NEED to read this book. If you love mystery books with a bi of action, you might like this better thn Lemony Snicket's book's. Oh and by the way, if you do like Lemony Snicket's book's... YOUR'E A GOTH!!!

Now, back to The Cryptid Hunters...wasn't it great! I loved it, too. Did you see that the author made a comment!! How cool is that?

I loved it.

I'm currently reading this with my 3rd grade son and we are half way through in two days. The most compelling book we've read all year (his previous favorite was Holes....) Excellent book, can't wait to see what happens next....
