The Penultimate Peril by Lemony Snicket

If you are a fan of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, you have already read this book, so there is no reason for me to tell you what it is about! If you have not read it yet, you can't start here; you must go back and read the 10 books that preceeded this one starting with Book the First, The Bad Beginning.
If, perhaps, you just haven't got around to this penultimate (meaning "next-to-last") volume in the series, I will tell you that it involves a harpoon gun, a sugar bowl, a trial, a ship in a rooftop pool, villians, volunteers, and a ballplaying cowboy superhero soldier pirate, among other things.
It begins with a touching dedication ("For Beatrice - No one could extinguish my love, or your house.") and ends with a surprising twist. I can't tell you what happens in between, because, if you've already read the book, you already know and if you have not read it yet, you can't start here (see above).
I can tell you that I can't wait for the ultimate (meaning "last") book!
If you read my previous comments about ASOUE you know that I was not a fan; I even dared to compare ASOUE to Harry Potter! What was I thinking!
