Regarding the Bathrooms: A Privy to the Past by Kate Klise
Kate Klise, and illustrator M. Sarah Klise, continue the story of the students from Geyser Creek Middle School and their friend, Florence Waters. In this installment, Regarding the Bathrooms: A Privy to the Past, the school needs new washrooms in the basement. Principal Walter Russ needs the work done in a hurry. He is to host the Society of Principals and Administrators conference. Of course he contacts Florence Waters, President of Flowing Waters Fountains, Etc. If you haven't read the previous titles about Geyser Creek Middle School (Regarding the Fountain, Regarding the Sink, and Regarding the Trees) you might want to catch up on those before beginning this one.
As with the others, the stories are told through letters, memos, newspaper articles and advertisements. Very wacky, and fun, with a different, unexpected villian - the students in Mr. N's class have a new mystery to solve. This time the mystery is more convoluted than the other storylines in the previous books. It is summer and as part, actually most of their summer school class, each student applys for and becomes an intern/assistant to town leaders. These include Principal Russ, the Mayor, and the newspaper editor. Of course there are also the new bathrooms to be built in time for the conference. . .
