Bird Lake Moon by Kevin Henkes

Bird Lake Moon
Bird Lake Moon by Kevin Henkes is the character-driven story of two boys in Wisconsin. Each is from Madison, but they meet while visiting Bird Lake.

For the summer, twelve-year-old Mitch has moved to his grandparents' house at Bird Lake with his mom. His dad stayed in the city because his parents are getting divorced. Mitch is still shocked and unhappy about this decision, but he decides that he and his mom sould stay at Bird Lake and move into the old and seemingly abandoned house next door.

Spencer and his family are going to Bird Lake for the first time in years. The last time they visited the house there, Spencer was just two and his four-year-old brother Matty drowned. Spencer doesn't really remember Bird Lake or Matty, but he knows the visit will be tough for his parents.

Will the mysterious events that start happening at Spencer's keep the two boys apart? Will they share their secrets? Or will Mitch and Spencer discover a new friendship?

The only way to find out what happens is to check out this new book!
