Book Lovers News ... Rebecca Caudill Nominees

Most states have book awards for children and young adult literature. In Illinois, it is the Rebecca Caudill Young Readers' Book Award. The Caudill is an annual award given to the author of the book voted most outstanding by students in grades four through eight in participating Illinois schools (and libraries).

Previous winners have included: So B. It, Eragon, Hoot, Stormbreaker, and more.

The 2010 Master List of Nominees was announced yesterday.

The Blogger Book Club began several years ago as a discussion and review forum for Caudill nominees, and although we have since expanded to include other good children's literature, the Caudill nominees are close to our heart.
The Caudill award has also expanded to include more young adult titles.

Look for reviews of current nominees that are appropriate for fourth to sixth grade students coming up on the Blogger Book Club.
You might want to start by reading shadowpuppy's review of The Wednesday Wars, a book by one of the Blogger Book Club's favorite authors, Gary D. Schmidt.

Happy reading!!

I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
